The depth of my answer seemed to surprise her but she was satisfied with my response. Never underestimate your own childhood wisdom or that of the inner child that dwells within your heart. Even then I understood that the elemental spirits, who are members of the angelic lifewave, inhabited animal bodies while the human spirit dwelled within human, biochemical shells. The significant difference being that humans had free will but the animals did not even have freedom of choice. The previous mandate for this universe stipulated that the elementals who ensouled as animals always obey others since that was their pathway to the stars. That has recently been superceded by a new cosmic law granting them the power of choice as long as their choices are aligned with Divine Will and Harmony. Now it is out of compassion for this planet and her Goddess Dannu that the animals continue to serve, despite all the suffering and sacrifices they have undergone over the millenium. Please always remember to keep the healing of the animal kingdom in your hearts and prayers.
Besides their individual consciousness, animals are also connected to a group
morphic field akin to a spirit stream coursing down a mountain. There is the
squirrel stream, the raven stream, the pigeon stream, the deer stream, the
turtle stream etc. In the small grove outside where I used ti live there were at
least four squirrels that scampered through the trees and delighted in the raw
peanuts I put out for them.
One of the grey squirrels came up the stairs when I opened the door to come out to feed the birds and sat back on her haunches with her paws placed together in an Eastern form of greeting. When I placed some peanuts in front of her, she reached down and held one of them up, and gazed at it as if it was the greatest of all treasures. The local ravens, crows, blue jays, and crackles were also partial to the peanuts, so another of the squirrels, who did not like competition, asked me to place some under a distant bush. Yet another of the squirrels had a totally different personality and was very shy and sent me telepathic messages from the trees but would not descend to the ground until I was some distance away. So although each of the squirrels exhibited behavior that one could characterize as squirrelish, such as playing tail tag with each other around the tree trunk, each one also had distinctive traits and qualities like appreciative friendliness or quaint aloofness.
One of the squirrels, who I call Rauwynne, took on the role of intermediary
or messenger between realms...
